The Goldwing remains Honda’s most pristine touring model with its unique ability to make long-distance travel a truly rewarding and enjoyable experience. Launched as the GL1000 in 1975 its horizontally opposed four-cylinder engine was not only physically different, it felt very different with a silky output perfect for long days in the saddle. A six-cylinder, 1500cc overhaul in 1987 saw the Goldwing once again state its intent and purpose to benchmark the ultimate touring machine. Over 40 years of development has moulded the new-generation Goldwing, a superb touring experience for rider and passenger.

PERFORMANCE

Powerful engine
The horizontally-opposed, 1,833cc six-cylinder engine punches out an arm-tugging 170Nm of torque @ 5,500rpm – it’s the heart of the Honda Goldwing. The Goldwing’s engine uses four-valve, Unicam® cylinder head design, improves engine performance and fuel efficiency.

7-speed automatic Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT)
Honda’s revolutionary DCT will transform your riding experience. It eliminates clutch levers, stalling, and the need for you to shift, while also giving you complete control to select gears if you want to. DCT also allows you to focus more on your riding line, braking points, cornering and acceleration. Further benefits include reduced fatigue, low stress urban riding, and best of all, lets you focus on the most rewarding parts of your ride.

Double-wall exhaust pipes
You may think this is just for cosmetics, but on a hot day single-wall exhaust pipes can throw off a lot of heat. The Goldwing’s twin-wall design keeps things cooler. Plus, this is the best sounding Goldwing we’ve ever built!

Fuel efficiency
Combining light weight with the bike’s engine, intake system and four-valve design, the Goldwing’s fuel economy is really impressive. Want to really squeeze the last mile out of every drop? Try the “Econ” ride mode setting.

Cruise control
Goldwing engines offer a wide range of user-friendly power and you can even choose between four ride modes (Tour, Sport, Rain and Econ). Each mode varies power output and DCT shift points. The selected mode also changes suspension damping on the Goldwing Tour.
