The Pioneer 1000 has a 6-speed state-of-the-art beltless dual clutch transmission (DCT), with manual or fully automatic modes, that is durable, efficient and easy to use, coupled with a purpose-built inline twin-cylinder, Unicam® 999cc engine. The 4WD system has an option for every situation. Don’t want to tear up sensitive surfaces, select Turf Mode. Want to access as much traction as possible, put it in 4WD. Need maximum power at all four wheels, lock the front and rear differentials. And the best part is, you can do it all with a shift of a single lever. And when the jobs are too big to tackle alone you can bring the whole crew.

Powerful 999cc twin-cylinder engine
The 999 cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin 4-stroke engine has revised valve timing and throttle-body settings, resulting in more high and midrange power, without sacrificing smooth delivery. Acceleration is improved and towing capacity has increased to 1,134kg. The Unicam® design produces significant horsepower and torque, and reduces overall engine size and weight, allowing for a roomier cabin design, lower centre of gravity and improved handling. Longitudinal engine mounting ensures most of the engine’s output is transmitted to the wheels.
Independent front and rear suspensions
Dual A-arm suspension gives you 268mm of travel in the front and 254mm of travel in the rear. Pair that with 345mm (3-seater) or 335mm (5-seater) ground clearance, and you maximize available traction and superior comfort manoeuvring over terrain other side-by-sides would shy away from.
Selectable drive modes

6-speed dual clutch transmission (DCT)
Honda’s exclusive automatic Dual Clutch Transmission provides the durability and efficiency of a conventional manual transmission, but can change gears automatically, upshifting and downshifting without driver input. Two automatic shifting modes allow the driver to tune the driving behaviour of the Pioneer 1000: “Sport” mode is more dynamic, while “Standard” is more relaxed. You also have the option of selecting “Manual” mode and making gear changes via paddle shifters mounted on the steering column.
High and low subtransmissions
With a full 42% gear reduction between High and Low, you get the torque you need in all 6 gears. It comes in handy when driving over difficult terrain, scaling steep hills or towing heavy loads.
